OUR STORY
Studio Far West is an Interior Design and Architecture studio based in Cornwall founded by Jennie Trethewy and Hollie Milne. After successfully collaborating on several projects a mutual passion for the ever-changing natural surrounding landscape of the West Coast emerged and Studio Far West was established. Their combined skills and talent see them work across many sectors including private residences, hospitality, commercial and residential developments delivering truly bespoke design packages.
Jennie specialises in Interior Architecture, FF&E and project management, Hollie in Interior Design creative concepts, 3D visualisation and materiality.
Jennie and Hollie’s design process and approach stems from their ability to collaborate on each project together, elevating and challenging the brief to strike the right balance between function, form, and style.
Working together they build an in-depth design brief that reflects you, your personality and your lifestyle resulting in the creation of beautifully crafted multi-layered elegant interiors. In their view, designing interiors is like telling the story of a person or a place.
By approaching each project holistically, the design duo delivers detailed, thoughtful, and intelligently planned spaces with clear design stories cemented by imaginative use of materials and finishes.
Having established several working partnerships with local engineers, artists and trades Studio Far West can deliver exceptionally high personalised levels of service. Jennie Trethewy
Jennie has over 15 years’ experience in Interior Architecture. Following graduating with a BA Hons at Nottingham Trent University she worked in London for the prestigious United Designers and Fox Linton Associates. During this time, she designed for exclusive hotel groups such as The Waldorf Hotel, Aldwych, The Caledonian Hotel, Edinburgh and the Dorchester Collections Coworth Park Spa.
For the past 6 years Jennie has co Directed London based Lomax & Chi Design Studio before returning to Cornwall in 2020 and putting down roots in St Agnes. She has designed concept Hotels, Spas and luxury residences at home and abroad and thrives on the buzz of very different challenges.
Jennie brings her skills to bear on a project from the outset – visualising and planning the layouts to ensure the interior space is used in a way that best matches the client’s lifestyle.
Since setting up in Cornwall, the lifestyle and sense of community she has found in St Agnes led to her connecting with Hollie and together the dynamic duo set up Studio Far West Interior Architecture & Design practice.
Hollie Milne
Hollie began her design career working within construction for three years delivering project management and interior design within her husband’s construction company.
During this time, she delivered high end residential developments as well as full refurbishments establishing a network of skilled trades and crafts. Notably 25 Beautiful Homes featured one of her projects during this time, as her passion grew, she decided to gain her formal education in Interior Architecture and Design at Falmouth University.
During her time at Falmouth University Hollie won numerous awards and prizes including an industry lead competition from Geometry global winning the future of retail 2021 prize for her project, the same project went on to win Most Creative Project 2021 from Falmouth University.
Hollie graduated from Falmouth University in summer 2022 gaining a first-class honour in Interior Architecture and Design and brings a broad range of skills and experience to the dynamic creative process, design and management at Studio Far West.
