Headland Hotel

Following on from the Ocean View Suites we designed 4 further bedrooms, each with its own unique colour palette. Maximising the tall ceilings and traditional architecture of the first-floor rooms, the designs feature contemporary upholstered patterned headboards of soaring heights, and bespoke scalloped curtain pelmets with floor to ceiling drapes. Colours and textures are playfully mixed in the upholstery fabrics throughout.

Art is a very important aspect of the rooms. Where possible we like to feature real paintings and sculptures in our designs – all sourced locally to support the community and give relevance and narrative to the pieces. Far West approached a handful of artists whose work we felt both complemented and provided contrast to the interiors.

The artwork was specifically commissioned for each room to ensure harmonious unity. For this collection of suites, the artwork is by Maggie Cochran, Camilla Clark, and Lyndsey Vowell.
